Music and missions

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God…"   Ephesians 4:11-13

Music concert

The children of friends in California asked their parents if they could do a music concert; they want the proceeds to support our ministry in Africa.

We are very excited about this and yet also humbled by these young children who want to use their talents to make a difference in Africa by supporting Gospel work and discipleship.

They also requested a list of items needed for the mission hospital we are equipping in Lubumbashi, Congo, so that they can be specific in their fund allocations.

Further, the music teacher of the children, Doug Hammond, who has performed before US presidents, has agreed to take part in the concert in support of his students’ ministry endeavors.

Praise the Lord for these young mission partners - may the flame kindled in their hearts grow into a consuming fire that will inspire them to support world missions for many years.

Central Africa ministry outreach

Two US friends are to join me on ministry outreaches in Southern and Central Africa early in December. We are ready to run: Visas are sorted and flights and accommodation are booked and paid; meetings are organized.

Delivery of the donated X-ray machine to the Lubumbashi mission hospital is to take place on this visit, as are the funds collected by my young friends of the Christian Service Brigade, who worked to provide a bicycle to a former child soldier who has come to faith in Christ.

We have just been informed that all flights, with the African airline we are booked with, have been suspended. Nothing surprises us in Africa. We have learnt to live with and be sanctified through trials such as these. On the other hand, trying to recoup the ticket costs and waste precious resources on new ‘late’ bookings, with other carriers, is quite a challenge.

Please pray with us for a miracle, that we can get to our ministry appointments on time, to teach, support, encourage and bless the body of believers in Southern and Central Africa.

Many thanks in advance,

Charl van Wyk

PS If you’d like to partner in our outreaches, please pray for us. Financial support of our ministry can be processed HERE.
