Exciting things are happening in Africa

“The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Rev 11:15

While we’ve been in the USA, we’ve had amazing opportunities to fellowship with believers and share our testimony of working and witnessing throughout Africa. God is doing something remarkable—using Africa as an example to America!

As more Americans observe how aggressively government control starts to permeate all areas of their lives, they must come to understand the tyranny that’s chained Africa in torment for many centuries. And thankfully, they’re inspired by the stories of faith and perseverance of Africa’s Christian believers.

Exciting things are happening in Africa.

Zambia

“We, the people of Zambia, by our representatives assembled in our Parliament;
Acknowledge the supremacy of God Almighty;

Declare the Republic a Christian nation,
while upholding the right of every person to enjoy that person’s freedom of conscience or religion...”

This is the preamble to the new proposed constitution of Zambia—and you can just imagine the attacks on this document by secular humanists.

According to a U.S. based research group, 70 percent of Zambian Christians believe that God’s law must be applied in their civil law.

Due to the free market opening up in this “Christian” nation, 200 farmers moved from communist Zimbabwe to Zambia. The results: They’ve provided jobs for the locals, boosted the economy and turned a net food importer into a net exporter.

The proposed constitution further makes abortion illegal, homosexual marriages banned and pornography no longer tolerated. Case in point, a South African businessman was incarcerated when trying to import illegal sexually explicit material.

Dr. John Jere, who founded Zambia United Christian Action (Zuca), served on the National Constitutional Conference (NCC) of Zambia: a body re-writing the national constitution.

Jesus Christ, the Quran and a hand grenade

Our family performed a play for our homeschooling co-op. The play covered the life of my friend, Bishop Deo of the Congo. It’s a story that lifts the hearts of Christians everywhere:

Deo was once a devout Muslim leader in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. He carried both the titles of Sheikh—a title of honor given to an Islamic scholar—and Imam—an Islamic community or spiritual leader.  He had graduated from the International Islamic University of Medina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after earning a degree in Islamic studies and the propagation of Islam. Amid his entrenchment in Islamic studies, something remarkable occurred—God revealed to Deo the true nature of His son and our saviour—Jesus Christ.

By reading the Quran, Deo learned of Jesus. He was troubled that even the great prophet of the Muslims, Mohammad, was not sure of his own salvation.  Yet Christians taught that one could be saved by the grace of God through faith. And because of the price paid by God’s son, Jesus Christ, on the cross for their sin, one could be sure of one’s salvation.

Deo submitted his life to King Jesus. Soon after, a live hand grenade was thrown through the window of his home while he slept. By God’s grace it failed to explode.

Today, Deo leads many to faith in Christ and disciples Christian converts from Islam. Not only that but due to the spread of liberalism in Anglican churches in the USA, he has attracted congregations in the USA, which now form part of his flock.

University, hospital and League of Christian Nations

Bishop Lamba Lamba in the Congo has a vision to see the building of a League of Christian Nations in Africa – and this is no small vision by any means.

He and his team have started both a Christian radio and television station, as well as many Christian schools and planted around 1,000 congregations. A Christian university and hospital are on the agenda for the New Year. Watch this space for updates, as we’ll keep you aware of his progress and you’ll have opportunities to be part of what the Lord is doing in this nation in Central Africa.

Praise God! Africa is moving forward and getting a small glimpse of God’s will "being done on earth as it is in Heaven.”

Forgiveness and the hardened heart

During November, I had the opportunity to speak at the Men’s Praise Movement in Springfield, VA. My presentation dealt with overcoming bitterness by forgiving “those who trespass against us” and submitting to the Lordship of Christ.

God’s standard and man’s ‘goodness’

Doing street evangelism in Washington, D.C., provided a great way to see the Holy Spirit work. When handing out tracts, one man spoke confidently about going to Heaven because he “was a good guy.” But when he read over the Ten Commandments on the back of the tract, he admitted that judging by God’s standard, his goodness was in question. Of course, this is true for all of us—and the gift of salvation that we celebrate this season is unattainable for even the most saintly among us without belief in salvation from our sins through Christ Jesus. Recognition of this vital step took root that day for this man—and surely God is moving in his heart.

On the air and in person

This month I performed a two-hour-long live radio interview from Crossroads of the West Gun Show in Phoenix, AZ, visiting friends and meeting many new wonderful people.

California was next on my itinerary, where I fellowshipped with friends and supporters and spoke at meetings.

I’m convinced that God is moving in the hearts and minds of the American people in a way that I have never seen since I’ve been visiting this great nation.

Sonja and I, with our children, visited the Mount Vernon Estate of George Washington for the home-school open day. It is a wonderful experience to see a small part of God’s divine hand on the history of America.

Thank you for your support and your prayers.

We wish you and your family a blessed Christmas as you celebrate the birth of the King of kings and Lord of lords – Jesus Christ.
